I got to watch the New York Yankees play the San Diego Padres in San Diego. The only unfortunate thing is that NY won the game, for I don't care for that team.

I was at the game at Olympic Stadium on May 3rd 1980 and saw Willie McCovey hit his 521st and last home run off Scott Sanderson of the Expos. He was already getting arthritic and trotted around the bases slowly. He tied Ted WIlliams that day, and also with Williams hit a home run in four different decades with that homer.

I have never attended a baseball game with my dad. The first real sporting event we attended together was a major college football game back in the 90's I was in my late 20's and purchased the tickets. I vowed to not do the same with my son. Since he was old enough to go, we attend at least on MLB game each year. Two years ago we took a trip to Chicago to see the Cubs play at Wrigley. That was huge to me. I think it was to him also. Next spring we are planning a trip to Fenway to see the Sox. I had a chance to see Ripken tie the Gehrig record in Baltimore. I kick myself everytime I think about it. Work schedules were tight. Hell, work schedules are always tight. That was a once in a lifetime opportunity. I'm a dumb-ass for skipping it.

I took a group of inner city kids to a baseball game for a school field trip. It was a warm spring day, we were out of that crappy building, sunflower seeds, cold cola... paradise. Three busloads of kids, not one discipline problem, just fun.

Used to be a good memory. I got engaged at a baseball game. We're divorced now, but it still is something I will remember. Also saw a no hitter once.
