  • Probate court documents are public records. Thus, if a will was entered into evidence in a probate matter, it will be a public record as well.
  • A Will, if probated is a matter of public record. Often, a Will is general and leaves someting called a "residuary estate" to an heir or heirs. This could include real estate, bank accounts, investment accounts etc. The Will does not have to particularly identify those assets. If you want to know specifics, you have to dig a little deeper. Part of the probated estate documnents would include tax filings which would give more detail concerning types of assets and individual values.
