To become a commerical pilot, there are several possibilities. Pay for flight training with a private instructor, go through a flight school (some universities have them) or in some cases, get your training from the US Air Force. Unless you want to enlist or go bankrupt, I would suggest to you to search for a flight school. My program was both a college degree and a pilot training course. I took courses such as finite calculus and physics on campus, as well as courses about aircraft, air travel, navigation, etc. Then when it came time for flight training (which was a course for credit) I would meet with the instructor at the nearby airfield and would go up for X hours each week for my training. Each pilot flight course ended with me taking an exam with the actual FAA instructor to get my license or rating. By the time the degree was complete, I had everything needed to be a commerical pilot. The cost was roughly $30,000. I was promptly hired as a cargo pilot, then a few years later I became a first officer for a regional airline. I stayed long enough for a captain upgrade. I'm now a first officer again, but this time it is flying 757's and 767's for a major commercial airline. Be aware, pilot school is expensive and can be discouraging, but I wouldn't want to do anything else. Flying is my passion and my career.

To fly a commercial plane, you need to have a CPL( Commercial Pilot Licence) and to get a CPL you must have a PPL (Private Pilot Licence). These are given by the number of flying hours you have under your belt, The required time for getting a PPL or CPL vary from country to country. but normaly a CPL will cost you 800-1000 hrs of flying experience.
The job sector in avaition is growing day by day, so there is a good chance of being hired after getting a CPL.
You'll haveto find from your flying club about thier charges. The fees are indeed high, but when you get hired, so is the income!
