No it is a Windy City. Probably somewhere in Tornado Alley is the windiest city.

No, it was named the Windy City because of the politics there under Mayor Daly back in the day. A lot of hot air being blown around.

It is really windy downtown though. If you go walking around there in the summer, it will take about 10 minutes for you to feel like you need a shower.

I've never herd it called the WINDEST city, but it's been pretty windy every time that I have visited it. If it's not the wind off the lake, it's the wind from the liberals sound holes.

Not even close.. Shores near Michigan, or really any city on the lake puts up alot more wind.

Chicago is very Windy indeed! You have to hang on to your children or they will be blown away, we almost lost a couple of kids one day due to the wind.

I live in the loop and come from the suburbs. I seem to think it is REALLY WINDY here downtown due to the lakefront being so close. Sometimes I get blown down the sidewalk because it's so windy. LOL! A ot of my customers that see me in my office downtown are from out of the country and agree it's a very windy city.

Chicago is called the Windy City, not because of the wind velocity, but the hot air of our politicians. There are many cities that are windier than Chicago, including Milwaukee and Boston for example.

there is a city other than chicago that is considered the windiest city....i think it is in north dakota or something....i am from chicago originally....it is pretty windy there.....take care...Brian.....
