If a child is breastfed until the age of 5, is it likely to have psychological or sexual quirks as an adult?

    I think the vast majority of children would rather not breast feed at a certain age, and would verbalize that to the mother. It is all about the child's benefit, and not the mother's. If the breast feeding is portrayed correctly there is no reason there should be fear of psychological or sexual inuendo. Emotional bonds are very special, and we need more of it in the world.

    I agree with Aunti EM ,, if it is going on that long, I would be questioning the mothers motives.

    I think it depends on the culture the mother/child were raised in also. Some cultures that is the norm. (Italy for instance) I agree with Auntie Em though, if there are no other forces in play it should have negative effects on the child.

    There is no evidence that extended breastfeeding of any kind causes any psychological or sexual problems in adulthood.

    In ancient times up to 5 years was normal.Gives a kid a great start health wise and mom too.
    fathers also got to join in.
