I am not sure which state your are in, but it sounds like you are talking about a criminal charge, rather than a speeding citation. traffic courts generally do not have arraignments, but rather a set court date for each violator and officer, to appear to answer the charges. on your court date, your citation will be resolved by either you pleading guilty or not guilty. a not guilty plea will grant you a short hearing of the facts, as given by the officer. then, its your turn. the traffic court judge will then determine if you are guilty, based on the testimony of you and the officer. officers traffic court dates are normally around 30 days after the violation occured. it may be longer, depending on the number of citations an officer issues within a certain time period. this avoids overcrowding in the court. hope this helps. end
