Well did not know much about it , so googled it and : color red symbolizes the blood that martyrs have shed in the history of the Rastas. The yellow in the gold represents the wealth of the homeland. Green represents the beauty and vegetation of Ethiopia, the promised land.

it's the color scheme of the 19th century Ethiopian flag, which, in 1897, included the lion emblem -- Lion of Zion. Zion is believed to be the Biblical promised land for a chosen people who would defend and rule over it. Rastafarian belief suggests this place to be Ethiopia.

to me red means beauty gold means food and green means a house... don't know if that helped... lol.

red - blood shed yellow - the gold they helped steal w/ pirates green - lush lands of africa i learned this in jamaica.....and red always goes on de top caus blood flows down.
