Why is it some people go on the world wide web to (networking sites, chat rooms) 24/7 and take what people who are not local and ARE STRANGERS to heart on the internet? I think it's absurd. Do you?

Well, some people establish a whole social experience online that they can't establish in real life (for whatever reason) and after a while some folks blur the line between their online lives and reality. So it becomes easy to take online experiences too seriously for some people. Did you have an example that you found absurd?
