To be honest iv been using sawdust you get these in big bags,it absorbs the smells and its so easy to dispose of and cheap,especially when you have a lot of cats :)

I find the clumpable to be the cheapest because I'm not wasting the rest of the litter by getting it damp and smelly. If no smell is important to you, then think about clumping. We get the biggest containers at Walmart of Kmart. THey are on sale a lot.

I use the brand that PetsMart has made for them ExquisitCat or something close. It is 40 lbs. for around $12.00 which I think is fair. This is the clumping kind but Unscented, my kitties are not big on perfume.
