Be honest, "Hi mom, I love you but I love him aswell, we are getting married, be happy for me" Sounds easy I know, but its the best way.

Carefully. Let her know you love her, you understand that she's not fond of him but that you really believe he's the right guy for you. This would be a very bad time to criticize her opinions of him, or try to change them... just let her know you've made your decision and you hope she can be happy for your happiness even though she isn't happy for your choice.

I didn't. I told her husband, my stepfather, and let her figure it out on her own. Of course, my mother and I don't get along.
