  • People tell joke to lighten the mood, and to help them cope with uncomfortable situations. But jumping from that to "you're gay because you make a gay joke" is a bit extreme. Some joke because they don't know what else to do. Religion says it's a sin. Religion is wrong. But if religion is wrong, then what is right? Maybe there is no right. Maybe I'm not really here. Maybe I can laugh it off. If I make a black joke, does that make me black?

  • Well, yes and no. It depends on the person. Studies have been done that demonstrate some of the most virulent anti-LGBT people actually have LGBT tendencies that they want to deny. But some folks were just raised in a very bigoted environment, and are products of it. Fortunately most folks leave such ignorance behind when they become educated, and meet people of all diversities.
