A lotion can be any type of liquid. What is the full name of the lotion? A moisturizer can be a "Moisturizing Lotion".

I suppose a moisturizer is a type of lotion. That is, at least most moisturizers are lotions... but many lotions are not moisturizers. You can have aloe lotions, sunscreen lotions, medicated lotions, even dehydrating lotions or acne lotions, designed to remove excess moisture or oil from the skin! Lotions can be designed to add or remove many different things from the skin - moisture is only one option.
