  • Girlfriend or ex-girlfriend? You cannot "repossess" a car that has her name on the title, assuming that the two of you actually own the vehicle and there are no loan payments outstanding. Technically, since the car is in both your names, you are co-owners and you are both entitled to use it, providing you are covered by insurance. You could "take" the car back by having a key made and without telling her, but that would likely involve the police because it would be reported stolen. I would advise discussing the matter first with her and, if it is not resolved, with a lawyer.
  • The fact that your name is first does not indicate a priority. Someone's name had to be first....yours had a 50% chance... You are co-owners. One of you could buy the other out, perhaps...if you have split. Go see the loans banker..if you haven't done so already.
