Not much. I dont think I would go there....

I'd be curious to spend some time there. It ranks as the poorest state along with West Virginia and I have often wondered how 'Southern' poverty differs fromm 'Northern'.

It's a great place to get out of. what has 4 I's but can't see?
-
I have been there once. It needs a good cleaning and more focus on education. Those were my impressions from my limited time there.

I absolutely love Mississippi! It's always been my favorite vacation spot. But, I hadn't been to Biloxi since just before Hurricane Katrina -- Went this summer -- devastating! I really feel for the people and the area.

I was born and raised in Mississippi. I'm in Ohio now for a few more months and can't wait to get back to Mississippi. MS has it's problems, just like every other state. And maybe we are one of the poorest...but we have a culture like none other. If people would just give it a chance instead of assuming it's dirty and we're uneducated...

I've never been there so I really don't know what I think of it since I haven't experienced it first hand.

I'm 17 and have lived here my whole life. While I can go on for days about the negative aspects of Mississippi, it does have a natural beauty that not even the most intolerant people can diminish. And if you go to Fondren (Art district in Jackson) you'll feel just like you're in San Francisco.

i went to russia with my church not so long ago to play concerts for the people near moscow, and while we were there i got the privilege to meet a nice old guy from mississippi who could really play the guitar. so my first impression, though found in russia, was very good.
