It is far too easy to be quarrelsome. People receive a sufficient number of positive outcomes from negative behaviour to make it worth their while. There is profit to be made through conquest, or at least made enough of the time, to make it a viable option. It is easier to rouse people through negative emotions, such as hate, than it is to rally them to a positive cause, such as equal opportunity in society. People who try to be 'nice' and 'fair' are often sneered at by those who do not share such 'noble' opinions. When was the last time you turned on the radio or television and heard a news or opinion piece in which someone was speaking positively about the great things that someone else had done, instead of listening to foul-mouthed punditry from people who despise all those who express a different opinion?

A nice idea but the world would be bland with no display of convictions. Can you imagine parliament or AB for that matter. We will never all get along but sadly the violence due to differring opinion is on a grand scale!

We certainly can and should. We would require a little engineering to get rid of certain personality cancers such as hatred, jealousy, envy, cruelty and others of similar nature. If we could master a plan to work on these issues this world would be a much better place. Regards.

in a perfect world - yes trouble is when someone wants to hurt you or steal your money they sometimes try to CON you by pretending to be your friend (sometimes for years). then when you least expect it they commit the crime this and the MEDIA have a lot to answer for creating a atmosphere of FEAR in the population............

Other people are so fanatical about their beliefs that they feel a need to attack anyone that dares to disagree with them. There are many reasons that people use to justify their actions, but there are just some people who refuse to get along with others.

Because people have to fight to prove who is more "humble" (and no, they don't get the contradiction...) and which knows the truth about the existence and nature of deity/deities (and no, they don't get the contradiction there, either) best. Obviously, such people believe their deity/deities are incapable of handling the situation and require their help to fight for the deity/deities and their religion. *sigh*
