Help answer this question below.
Ironically enough, from what I've seen I think arrogance actually comes from a lack of confidence or insecurity. People like this I think have been put down a lot or have had inadequate amounts of emotional, psychological support and love necessary to make them feel good about themselves . At a certain point, when their esteem of themselves is so low it's natural for them to protect themselves emotionally from getting hurt any further by exhibiting superiority or arrogance over others. At the moment they are recognized for one of their strengths or abilities, the full blown confidence makes up for their lack of confidence in everything else. In a way, its the mind's natural self-defense mechanism.
Insecurity! The arrogance is really just an overcompensation for this character deficit.
People who need to put others down in any way in order to feel good about themselves are lacking in self esteem!
An inflated vision of their self worth.
i think arrogance covers up "not knowing how to deal with the fact that you can't control life and your surroundings"
Its totaly not true arrogance come from within you if you feel your more and better then most poeple your already arrogant it doesn't involve nothing emotionly or anything in past!!!! everybody in this world is arrogant but some show it more than others ...right now all these comment is reflecting arrogance !!!
Good grief...this question goes back to 2006.
Arrogance is part of person's evironment. People were not born arrogant. Have you ever seen an arrogant baby...loll..don't think so.
Personally it could come two sources: 1) they make a lot of money 2) they are very insecure in themselves.
Bottomline, none of should be this way...everything we have, comes from the Grace of God, and this would be another subject...but, humility is a great thing.
Arrogance is also hereditary. it can come from past genes passed on to a family member. i have a family member that fits this category. it was passed on to him, by my father. the source is real life.
Either they are extremely good at something and they know it, or they are bad at something, know it, and psychologically have a need to make up for it.
Their mommys told them they were wonderful. They believed it. Now everybody hates them.
(P.S. You can never really win in this life.)
