You could if you want to. Remember to skin it and cook it well first. You may want to collect a few first so you can make a meal out of it. They are kinda small. Personally, I prefer a 1.5 lb lobster, boiled in seawater and served with melted butter but your taste in food may be different.

In Lusaka, capital of Zambia, there are many open-air restaurants where you get the staple food, nshima (corn grits, like stiff mashed potatoes) served with greens and your choice of chicken, beef, pork, "mice meat" and a couple other choices. Everything is done in open air so you can see that the utensils are washed with plenty of soap and steaming hot water. However, when we were there, I was the only one of our group who ordered the pork instead of the chicken--and the only one who didn't have diarrhea half the night. But we were there for a whole vacation and that was the only such incident. The Reader's Digest condensed a book by an American airman captured in North Vietnam who was served a boiled rat along with his food, and he dumped it into his chamberpot. He was severely beaten for wasting food. He should have just left it on his plate instead of spoiling it in that fashion, so it would be usable by someone else, because the Digest also had a condensation by some missionaries in that area who wrote about the "edible rat" of Southeast Asia, a completely different rodent from the filthy sewer-dweller of our cities and no more disgusting than a squirrel or rabbit. Nice to know if you're ever in a starvation situation, but please God you probably won't be.

As a survey of the answers reveals, it's not clear whether you're asking whether you could safely eat mice, given that your cat does (would it make a reliable taster), whether you could live on mice if required (would they nourish you as they do the cat), or whether it would be sensible for you to follow your cat's lead as to cuisine (as you might with some chef or food critic). The answer to the first is probably -- I can't think offhand of anything cats eat that would be fatal to us, though some of its diet might not be appealing until you're seriously hungry, when everything looks good. The answer to the second is yes -- it's been tried, but cook them if possible. The answer to the third is it depends. Do you have generally similar tastes in other areas? Have his or her recommendations worked for you in the past? Is there a chance that you're being toyed with -- that the cat doesn't really care for mice but wants to see if you can be induced to try them? If the last, I'd have one just to see what the cat will come up with next.

Yes but make sure it's dead first because it might play hide and "squeak" in the stew!
-
Definitely not! Not only is that inhumane and cruel, but who knows what diseases you might possibly contract, if you were to eat a mouse!
-
Yes indeed! Perhaps served up with a nice ratatouille. Or slowly smoked over over a mousequite wood fire. Bon apetit. Well, on second thought that sounds awful, with the bone or without it, I just can't picture dineing on ape ti...oh, its just disgusting to continue.

no

Find the old movie Never Cry wolf
-
No because mice and rats carry diseases like the Hauntoviris it can kill humans and there is no cure.
-
i dont think so but only if you really want to!!!
-

-
My cats get worms when they eat mice... not something I want to have growing inside of me... You gotta start thinking for yourself...
-
Yeah, I think you should try it. Let me know how it tastes.
-
WHAT THE HECK!?! NO! Its a cat You dont have to eat what a cat eats??? why in the world would u wanna eat a mouse just because ur cat ate it? it dont make it good? remember.. they eat things that feel like stale pieces of bun in your mouth! (dry cat food) and THATS not good?! (i was dared to eat it :P) but cats like it? SO NO DONT EAT A MOUSE
-
Go ahead, see if I care
-
what, do you eat catfood? we are not hunters and gatherers anymore, our bodies aren't as tough as they once were. A cat can cope with any bacteria a mouse may have within him, we can't!!! I mean you'd have to research how to cook him safely, maybe marinate him in antiseptic first or something - but do you really want all that trouble just coz your cat enjoys them????? If you had a pet shark, would you eat humans????
-
your obviously trying too hard to come up with questions to submit, but it is funny! however, if you are being serious, I would suggest you go see a psychiatrist!!!
-
Don't follow your cats lead! Be different! Eat the cat food!
-
Oh dear... I am very glad you don't own a dog... "My dog eats _________" ..... "________" would most likely be fecal matter. Ah, so try a mouse... just don't get a dog anytime soon...
-
It's a good thing you don't have a dog or you'd be asking us if you should eat a steaming yard biscuit. (and for future reference...no...you shouldn't)
-
Your cat eats mice? So does my dog.. whole and live. So maybe I should eat my dog and u should eat your cat who ate the mouse... And then I'll eat you. Yum!
-
Your cat is treating you like a kitten by bringing in prey.
-
Sure. They taste like chicken.
-
Of course. If you love your cat that is.
-
I have it pretty good.Mine like pizza.
-
Your cat also licks his ass. Do you wanna try that too?!!!
-
It's so nice you like your cat so much. But you don't need to do everything it does. Your cat licks it's butt and uses a litter box and walks in it's poop. You can do that too if you wish. But I think it's better to stick with human things.
