Why would people want to climb Mount Everest in the nude given the risk of frostbite?

I love extreme sports but Climbing of any kind is NOT one of them. The reason that people would want to do this is because they already have had a brain freeze, maybe it is a new and cheaper method of cryogenics

I know exactly the man you're referring to. I saw him break the world record for swimming underwater in freezing conditions. This man is just completely different than anyone I have ever seen. He has also performed other feats too.

I don't think that is physically possible.. the extreme temperatures would kill you before you made it to the top unless you just stripped down for the last 10 yards or so...

To commit suicide in a novel way. They would not get very far up the mountain of course, but they would be the first in the record books to attempt it.

I have no idea why anyone would want to climb Mount Everest anyway. I don't get the whole "risk your life for a buzz" mentality. I'd much rather have a mocha frappuccino at Starbucks while looking at pictures of Mount Everest on the web. :)

Frostbite might be a minor risk compared to other things, like getting your willy caught in your harness buckles and ropes! OUCH!!!

If you are going to do it ,do it with flair. Why climb everest at all would be my question. how many idiots have died up there just to say they died trying. there is no exploratory value to accomplishing it.

Maybe the thrill of climbing the world's highest mountain makes some people think and feel that it's worth the risk.
