Help answer this question below.
I worked for nearly 50 years without stopping! My final 30 years were working my career in Manhanttan, i.e., New York City, with a four-hour daily commute from New Jersey...on a GOOD day! I retired at age 55, as planned well in advance, which was 16 years ago.
Do I like retirement. NO! I LOVE retirement, and have from the very day I retired.

Not there yet....
Yes, I am to young to retire but when I do then I would just want to live In Cancun or Hawaii and enjoy everyday of It=)
No. I thought I'd be travelling all the time -- but travelling all the time got boring. I also thought I'd be eating out in restaurants a lot more -- but my diet has become so particular that I find the menus at most restaurants are boring too. I've always loved urban life, but I've ended moving to a small town where all the conveniences I need are within a two block walk. I expect, if I were to write this answer again two years from now, it will be different -- I may just go out and get a job... so stay tuned.
what retirement? couple of more years...I'd be bored and one can only clean house so much!
I am yearning to retire, but my eligibility to apply for Social Security is an elusive 5 years away, if anything is left by then. Otherwise, I may have to live on a small pension from my employer, if there's anything left by then and what I've managed to save (if there's anything left by then).
Yes and know. Not retired exactly, just can no longer work due to disability caused by a severe wreck. Was really not prepared to quit work, but it happened. So while I do enjoy the time off, it gets boring at times also. And the financing isn't there to do any traveling or go a lot of places. But do try to stay busy. Do a lot of work in the office for my church (church secretary, but voluntary), help my sister do the tape ministry at her church (she is also church secretary). Stay active in church events, etc.
So I guess life isn't so bad being 'retired', God has truly blessed me with something to do by providing me the privilege of being able to serve Him. Guess if I have to 'retire, can't think of a better way to spend my retirement than serving the Lord! (after all, He died for me!)
Ask me again in another fifteen years or so!! :-/
I think id get pretty bored with staying at home everyday smelling like bengay!
no, i am supposed to be on a pacific island with attendents.
