If you don't have a lot of money, leave the exhaust alone. You could spend a grand on a 'performance' exhaust and get maybe 5 extra hp (within a portion of your powerband that you hardly ever use - which you won't even really notice. When push comes to shove the best bang for your buck comes from opening up the engine and making real changes. Flashy bolt-ons like 'performance exhaust' and cold air intake and so forth may seem cheaper as you can do it piecemeal over time, but you don't get much benefit from these and you will spend a ton of money on a whole bunch of bolt-ons before you get enough performance improvement to actually notice (beyond simply imagining a difference) Another good way to increase acceleration is to run smaller radius wheels and a more aggressive final drive ratio differential. You will 'feel' a real difference there. (of course you'r gas mileage will ne worse and you'll have to adjust your speed sensor or your speedometer will be wrong)

What is your budget? Do you want a performance exhaust or one that looks and sounds cool? (Fart cans and melon launchers usually HURT performance!) What other mods are on the car?
