  • Social pressure. Though, I think its not as bad as it used to be... I know plenty of women in their 20s, 30's, AND 40's who are in no rush to get married.
  • Because women are brought up "dreaming about their wedding" and planning to have a family, where men have the spreading the seed mentality.
  • I think its the OTHER way round. MEN are not in a hurry to get married.
  • Because women love love and men love sex. End of story =)
  • We nest. They hunt.
  • Biological programming. If you have no deadline on a project, you are not going to finish it as quickly as someone who does. Women have deadlines to meet-men don't.
  • At the most fundamental level, men are looking for a baby-producing machine, whereas women are looking for a protector and provider. (This is incredibly simplistic, and reflects only on the differences; both man and women are looking for a friend and companion, but we are talking about differences). A woman is at her reproductive best between about 18 and 25. A man is at his earning, fighting, supporting best from about 30 to 50. Therefore it is unsurprising that men chose women younger than themselves, and women chose men who are older than themselves. Which leads to women marrying younger - on average.
