The plants would continue for a time until they had consumed all the nutrients available, then they too would die.

I think the plants would continue to live and take over the world. It would be evolution all over again. Plants that find it hard to survive because of lack of pollinators would possibly die out but could also possibly survive due to 'mutations'. Actually any plant will have a chnace of surviving because of mutations. An example of mutations in our present, is when we put a 'human virus' into a pest to wipe it out. Usually what happens is 998/1000 will die, 2 survive because of genetic mutations, those 2 that survive will breed while also passing genes onto the next generation. Therefore i think the plants would adapt to the envronment and their will be a vicious power struggle for survival of different plants across the world. This stuggle of plant power will ultimatly lead to plants drastically evolving and changing. I dont know - maybe iv been watching too many science fiction films........

SOme p[lants would survive but many wouldn't. Many need animals to help pollinate or move from palce to place. SOme plants need animals to form their surroundings. Animals do fertilize the planet, too. Now if the insect world was gone, too. that would really be disastrous. THen there would hardly be any variety in plants. A very different worlkd without flowers and fruits and veggies. We might see a return to the spore and fungus world of the past as they dont need much from the animal kingdom or insect world. It's a sad thought to think of such a world bereft of so much of it's beauty and diversity
