1. Get a really good razor, make sure it's sharp 2. Get really good shaving cream/gel. I use this one product called "Coochie" I bought it on the internet and it's wonderful. 3. Always, trim the hair down before shaving. Leave it at about 1/4 of an inch. 4. When shaving, pull the skin taut before you shave, it will make it so that the shaving area is smooth and lessen chances of snagging on the hair. 5. After shaving, exfoliate by lightly scrubbing the area 6. If you cut yourself on accident, hold light pressure on the cut until it stops. A word of warning: If you are doing this for the first time, it may itch or feel uncomfortable when the hair is growing back. It took me a few times to get used to it. Best of luck to you!

Why has this question been downrated? Anyway.... If you feel uncomfortable shaving in a shared shower (and who could blame you?), why not try home waxing kits? You can do that in the privacy of your room. If you really want to shave though, Nikeah's answer is spot on
