  • Is it ethical to take a photograph of someone naked and then delete the face? Answer: No! A person's information is that person's, whether it be their height, breast size, intellect etc. it doesn't matter. Some people prefer to keep some things private and don't care about other things, it is not your right to make that decision for them!
  • If the information is not in the least bit personal, I don't see any harm.
  • The short answer is yes, but with several important caveats. If the data is public, such as sitting in a public park and counting the people who walk by, the informed consent of subjects need not be obtained. In settings where there is the expectation of privacy, and with special groups of people like children, or people who could suffer harm as a result of the research, the rules change, informed consent of subjects becomes mandatory, and proposed research is subject to extremely rigorous review. Most universities and research organizations have Institutional Review Boards, and/or an Office for the Protection of Human Subjects in Research, who assess research proposals for their possible impact on human subjects. There are also shared research ethics guidelines at the national and international levels.
  • It is clearly unethical but any website you go to will do it anyway
