  • 10th grade was my first exposure, as I recall. Neither period was really covered during the earlier years, but the 10th grade Social Studies curriculum was World History. We didn't have a set study, though, but rather a bunch of different courses to choose from each quarter (8 weeks); different ones were offered each time, and it all depended on how they would fit into your schedule with your other classes. I had Ancient Egypt for one of the World History 8 week classes; another quarter was on the Renaissance era. The medieval period was mentioned but never really studied. My only exposure to Medieval times within formal education was during a Western Civilization class during my freshman year in college.
