Jainism is one of the oldest religions of the world and began in India. It is not associated with other religions including Hinduism. They follow the teachings of 24 Jinas(conquerors),which include self control, peace, non violence under all conditions, and non killing of anything. They believe god is in everything and everyone, and that we are responsible entirely for our lives and possible redemption. There is still many million followers from around the world. They are vegetarians and will not eat root vegetables for it ends the life of the vegetable.
