  • I'm not an expert on this, but I think a feather duster gentling wiping the monitor, being carful to wipe away from the cooling fan and the ventilation vents should be okay. When the computer is not in use, you can place a computer cover over the monitor. Computer covers don't cost alot and can be found at most computer outlets. Another suggestion would be to mover the computer to an area in the house where it is likely to get "less" dusty. (not right next to an open window)
  • It depends on which part of the monitor we're talking about. For everything but the screen itself, I recommend using a vacuum to eliminate the dust, including the air vents. Using liquid to clean the outside is dangerous, as liquid spilled inside can ruin the monitor and harm you in the process. The screen itself can be cleaned with liquid, but never sprayed directly on the surface. Spray just enough onto the cleaning cloth, to prevent excess from dripping inside the monitor and causing damage. Anti-static treatment on the screen after cleaning can help prevent dust from clinging to the screen as quickly.
