Do you find that as you grow older people you know your own age don't look older to you? I never notice that they have aged (or at least not much) in the past 30 years. Is this just because age becomes less of a focus for us after WE age?

It seems just the opposite, for me. I look at my friends that are my age, and I wonder if I'm starting to show my age like they are. Then, I'll look in the mirror and think "No, I still look the same". But, if I asked them to tell me truthfully, they would probably say that I do look older.

Yes, I think this is very common. You see some people so regularly that you don't notice the gradual changes of the aging process taking place, and then one day you will be looking at old photos and realise "Damn, I never knew we they had aged so much". I don't think it is so much because we no longer care about age so much.

I can't measure it in 30 years. I don't mean that judgementally, but I just can't. What I can say is that I'm not 21 anymore and yes people my age do seem to show their age+ physically. At the risk of sounding conceited I've been told I look 22 since I don't have any wrinkles, grey hair, and am super fit. The funny thing is I've never focused on my age. The way I see it is I will never show my age. I will always look younger. This sounds crazy, but I believe it and I feel it and I say it whenever I remember to look in the mirror. I have not had any plastic surgery nor would I judge anyone for having it done. I know I will age within reason, but nobody said it has to be just now. People ask me if I do anything special. All I can say is yes I believe in myself. I also eat right and have good genes. This doesn't mean I won the genetic lottery. I would say most of all it's my firm belief that everyone is perfect and beautiful flaws and all. I never use my words to gossip about others. I never trash talk myself. I am grateful for everything I have everyday no matter how bad the day seems. I never notice others have aged until someone else points it out. That just makes me feel like it brings us all down as people. I long for the day where people don't ask how old someone is.
