Help answer this question below.
take some ibrufen i had mine done yesterday and its a lot better already today still abit ov swelling but no pain you got to make sure u clean it at least 3 times a day with mouthwash or salty water !
When my son had his done a few months back, he sucked ice cubes, ate iced lollies that sort of thing, but the swelling takes its own time to go down, his tongue was really bad for about 3 days, he could only eat through a straw - ie. soup.
I have more than several piercings myself, and the piercer/tattoo artist should have told you how to care for your new body modification.
For a piercing on your tongue, the best (and pretty much only) thing you can do is rinse your mouth out with warm salt water daily, or even just use mouthwash. Then, for the swelling, take some ibuprofen and suck on some ice cubes.
=)
Good luck with your new body mod.

You're reading I just got my tongue pierced... and I have minor pain and no swelling. They said it would hurt tomorrow and become really swollen tomorrow and stay that way for a few days. What can I do to reduce my swelling to a minimum?
