I was wondering what her crime was. And, having seen this before, it really is AMAZING the strength these criminals (male or female) have, even when cuffed. Was she spitting? Biting? Kicking? While I agree that "6" times seems excessive, I have watched it take 10 cops to hog-tie my little brother. This is a VERY dangerous job that the police have to perform, so more often than not, (and having dealt personally in similar situations), I will usually give them the benefit of the doubt.
But, I do think 6 times is excessive, and I would worry about her having "heart failure" or something, with so many "jolts". They probably should have just sat her down til she cooled off some, (but, if she was "hopped-up" on something, that could have been a very long wait).

still she was in hand cuffs ... going no where , she attacked a car ... big deal , charge her with smashing up a police car not try and stun her to death

Well, the article states "Tasered twice AFTER she was handcuffed"

So, she was nailed 5 times BEFORE they could physically restrain her...

Sounds like she was REALLY zonked on something or was just one of those fun types who can take a licking and keep kicking.

Ummm...Other then that, she got a lesson on how NOT to act with cops.

Maybe she'll learn something, maybe not. I'll place my money on the latetr though.

so 7 times she was zapped and 2 of these were after she was hand cuffed ..mmm so much for the B.S. the cops have been putting out how effective these things are, remember all the footage and press statements that show and say it only takes 1 zap to render someone incapable... sorry the cops need to have these lethal devices taken of them until they learn how to use them ... 7 times and 2 with hand cuffs ...I would be suing the arse of that copper and the police force

I do not believe there is any justification for using a stun gun on a person who is cuffed.
They are train to take someone down in other ways.
Even if she was cuffed yet struggling or trying to run .. there are other methods to get her down.

I am not going to ask that you let me see who is downrating.. you obviously feel the need to do it anon.. I think I can understand why. Supporting someone being tasered SEVEN (as listed on CNN when I thought it was only six) times.. you and I obviously will not agree. I have LE all through my family and I am a huge LE supporter but I also know what they are trained and tasering someone like that, even a violent.. IS NOT procedure. THEY ARE taught other ways. He even tells her he will do it AGAIN if she does not WALK. http://tinyurl.com/2uw5ur

I agree ...but they seem very trigger happy and yes there are other ways and they are trained in these... seems the easy way out

and so she attacked a piece of metal(the car) so what .... no reason to keep your finger on the trigger and just keep on stunning her and she was cuffed ...big brave copper !
Avatar WeeWillyWinky Sep, 21 2007 at 09:46 PM
well put it this way if someone was trying to break out your window and you had a stun gun would you use it? i know i would
Avatar buxtonite ..back from the brink Sep, 21 2007 at 11:14 PM
no if they were already hand cuffed and I know I wouldn't use the bloody thing 6 or 7 times on them and I also know my ass would be in jail so quick my head would spin and my ass would sued to high heaven .... so why not this cop...is he above the law?

Even if she was still struggling, 6 times is completely unnecessary. The cop should be charged and fired.
