Question

Help answer this question below.

My Motorola V80 will send calls and receive voice mail but will not ring or notify of incoming calls. If calling from another cell phone it rings and goes to voice mail and if calling from a land line it rings busy. Any ideas?

I found the answer. If the phone is from a different carrier than the one you use your carrier has to submit a request to have the phone unlocked. Carriers will not accept requests from individuals rather the request must come from the carrier. For example in this situation the phone was a T-Mobile phone and our carrier is Cingular. Cingular customer support sent an electronic request to T-Mobile to have the phone unlocked. It takes approximately 3-5 business days.
