  • Once I have my countrymen behind me... one.
  • Excellant question, and I hope it gets people thinking about it. I am Canadian, but reading a lot about what is happening in the USA. I am very worried about the people there, and what George W. Bush is doing to them. He should be in jail for war crimes, along with several members of his administration, but he has avoided jail many times in the past and probably will again. In fact, his entire family has broken the law and avoided jail time it seems...money talks I guess. Unfortunately, I don't think that most people will fight or even believe their rights are being violated until they come to their door and arrest them, and take them to a FEMA camp. Then they might try to fight.
  • Hmmmmmm. Interesting. My constitutional rights were created by my government.
  • I've been fighting back for several years now. The best way I know is by supporting the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). http://www.aclu.org/ They file court cases in support of our civil liberties and they usually win. The right-wing hates the ACLU, which is a good indication of how effective they are. Their biggest enemies are corrupt politicians.
  • I don't fight agains government - I just move away. Because non of politicians's ambitions are worth my effort.
  • Define "fight back" against the government. The federal government abandoned the Constitution about 90 years ago. Why fight back now?
  • Unfortunately, the ACLU has never learned to count past the number 1, but at least there's the NRA to focus on #2. But niether seems to have any interest in fighting for #4, and EVERYBODY'S forgotten #10! The big problem is Americans sign away most of their rights as soon as they "voluntarily" enter into the Social Security System, obtain a drivers license, obtain a business or professional license, incorporate a business, join the Bar, open a bank account in an FDIC insured bank, accept a government grant or government guaranteed loan, or sign a tax form. In doing any of these things you "voluntarily" wave key rights (especially the right to privacy and the rights against warrantless search and seizure, and self-incrimination) and subject yourself to State & Federal regulations with their mandatory self-disclosure and compliance clauses (i.e., it doesn't matter that there was no victim: you violated the regulation and thus the terms of the contract, and so incurr an avalanche of civil and criminial penalties) meant for government employees and contractors in return for "the privileges" these contractual arrangements with the government bestow on you. After having spent 20 years trying to reverse the tide, I got tired of being undermined by the very people who should have supported me and joined me, and became utterly disgusted with the supposed leaders of the resistance who wouldn't lead, and lobbyists who were only interested in perpetuating the evils to justify their continued employment, so I emmigrated to Thailand -- The real land of the free! Even under martial law during the first week of the coup 2 years ago, I had more liberties in Thailand than I did in Chicago.
  • thats what im saying!!!!! if you are not outraged then you are not paying attention
  • if your not outraged then your not paying attention on my eyes.....we have no rights...wake up people!!
  • Here's a specific example of rights being violated. Remember last month when the Denver police attacked protesters at the Democratic Convention? The policemen's union printed a 'commemorative' T-shirt: "We get up early, to beat the crowds," the shirt reads, followed by "2008 DNC." The words flank a grinning police officer holding a baton and wearing a hat with a crossed-out number "68." http://rawstory.com/news/2008/Denver_cops_get_Tshirts_that_mock_0928.html .
  • If you really want to get angry and be moved to fight! read this blog regularly: http://freedominourtime.blogspot.com Mr. Grigg does an amazing job of showing who are enemies really are and what they're about, as well as how they go about it. (No, he's not a crank conspiracy theorist, just an extremely observant, perceptive, eloquent - and arguably rabbid - Christian Libertarian.)
  • Inducted Kitty: Thanks, and well put. I'll search for info on Vincent Bugliosi and his proposed case for war crimes. "Move over, Charlie," indeed. I'm picturing Charlie on George's back, ... with no lubrication. Edit: This was supposed to be a reply to a comment
  • Just who do we fight against? the government is already corrupt. the national guard will pull the trigger if large crowds revolt. who wants to run for office anymore. obama is like abe lincoln, he is running to make things better. mccain is running so big business will continue. how do you suggest we fight back?
  • It seems are judges and coarts are allowed to violate are constitutional rights without question. And if we dare question nothing is done about it anyway?
