Definitely not. I know I'm going to get criticised for stating this, but the US only attacks defenseless countires. Iran has a fairly advanced military-the people are fairly united. There is no way the US could hope to conquer them. I mean, just look at Iraq.

If they are Republicans, it's quite likely. They would declare war at the drop of a hat, for shits and giggles. If they are Democrats, then only if Iran strikes the US or an ally first, and even then only with a United Nations coalition. They would only declare war as a last resort- after all diplomatic options and bombastic threats have been exhausted. After the crap that Bush put us through with Iran, they would be strongly hesitant to repeat it.
