that and also, after a hard day, it is relaxing, it calms your body, you get a sensation of relaxation, you become more outspoken, thats why people drink. :)

Because they think puking on themselves is cool. No, that's getting drunk. An occasional drink many people feel helps them "loosen up" and relax. BTW: I personally have never had more than one strawberry daiquiri, just giving my 2 cents

Alcoholism is a disease. Reading that people think that they like to vomit or enjoy its negative effects makes me realize how uneducated the world is on alcohlism. It CAN be fun but that is how it starts.. then you do it when you are stressed and escape for just a moment from life's pressures.. baby steps to a very big problem. I use to ask why would anyone waste so much money on something they just pee out in a little while, til I got with an alcoholic. Then I saw satan in liquid form. Think I am exaggerating if you want. I am not. It is a lifelong battle and like crack, once it gets its hooks into you deep enough.. escaping her is one of the biggest battles known to man. I compare it to a woman who wants no one else to have him but her. Seductive in his face and holding a knife to his back.. vice versa for the sexes. People think they have control over it until one day they realize.. it controls them. They cannot just put it down like people accuse. Knowledge is power and the more you read up on alcoholism.. the more it will blow your mind. Those bums you see on the side of the road and drive past.. many of them lived great lives... had wonderful families.. you would never see who they use to be if you did not know what alcohol can do. You think they easily chose that path? They were drug down it by her grasp and yes, she is that damn big. I have never been a big drinker. I get sloshed easily and it is fun but having seen what she can do, she scares me and I am thankful to God I have that fear of her. My BF has battled her for years due to having been raised with it on both sides of his family and being allowed to drink at a very very young age. Together and with the grace of God, we hope to beat this demon. God Bless anyone battling her .. or him if you are a woman and your loved ones. Do not give up.

For the same reasons they use hard drugs, indulge in highly dangerous behavior ( like unprotected sex ), and occasionally commit suicide ... they find some aspect of reality unacceptable.

Because most Americans aren't taught how to drink responsibly. It is the forbidden fruit for the first 21 years of our lives. Instead of being given the chance in a safe environment to responsibly learn what our limits are as we grow up... it's basically head out into the forest/ head over to a friends house and drink as much as possible as quickly as possible.

it can actually mak a really fun night out. once every so often is not so bad...

because it is legal and it is better than any illegal drug.

so we have an excuse to act like the children we still wish we were
