ANSWERS: 18
  • I think its a little ridiculous... i turned 18 the year my hometown set a curfew... i would have been in so much trouble if i had to obey that curfew... its the parents responsibility anyway... if theres a few kids that want to go out and break the law at night a curfew isnt going to stop them
  • I think that they should not only set curfews, but actively enforce the curfews or they are pointless. IF they do that, then there are no kids out in the streets at night. What good can become of youngsters out late at night? The answer is no good can become of it, only bad things, sex, drugs, vandalism, and other crimes committed by teens often happen during these hours. Start fining parents for their children being out past curfew and you will really see no kids roaming the streets at night.
  • Yes, I think they should, for anyone under the age of 18. Any younger, and they could be taken advantage of pretty easily. Teens will be old enuff, soon enuff. Why rush it?
  • only if they are under 16y's because they are still kids and should be home
  • There's no blanket rule that I think can apply here. In big metro areas, it's a good idea to prevent them from being victims. In rural areas, what's the point?
  • I say no. It's the parents' responsibility. Government is not a babysitter. Plus, there are Constitutional rights under attack by curfews such as the First Amendment (the right to peaceably assemble).
  • OMG....that is wrong the parents should set the curfew.... im 14 and my curfew is 11 pm and i never get into trouble, people should trust that the kids are going to behave.....they shouldnt jump to conclusions and automatically think teens are going to be bad
  • If teens are causing a lot of trouble then yes, but if there are no trobules going on then why punish them when they are acting mature enough to be out and not cause trouble.
  • Curfews as we are unable to properly show the young about basic respect. That is not the youths fault but to protect ourselves from our stupidity!!
  • Where a city's crime rate committed by teenagers has become unmanageable, steps to reduce/contain that condition may be the only practical choice. Fines should be levied against the parent(s) who are failing to carry out their responsibilities insofar as their child/children. Incarceration may also be necessary for parent(s) who fail to pay such fines, or whose child/children commit multiple infractions of the curfew. Crime will not be eliminated completely regardless of what steps are taken, but with enforcement, it should diminished substantially for the overall greater good and well-being of the community.
  • no problem
  • i like where i lives curfew. its 1 in the morning so its not stupid. teens can go out late and then come home late. There are drug problems and mild gang problems in my neighborhood.
  • Yes I do. Some parents are unable to establish curfews with their teenage children due to rebellion no matter what consequences they give the teen. This way it is a city/town ordinance they must abide by. Anyone who wouldn't agree is either young themselves or has never dealt with a unruly teenager. Every little bit of help counts when your dealing with a situation that can become bigger than you.
  • what is the teen does not live with thier parants and works late? That would put a strain on the bills
  • Depends on if there is a problem in the first place. If it's just some kids hanging out at a park late , sometimes drinking, hurting noone including themselves, no curfew necessary. If they are putting themselves in dangerous situations like hanging out with drug dealers and criminals. Sure, try and see if it'll work.
  • Teens aren't recognized as legal persons the same as adults, so they should have limits in many things! The curfew should begin at sunset and go till sunrise! If a teen doesn't like it they can petition the court to be seen as emancipated and free! They have the possibility of legal recourse so they can change things!
  • We have a curfew of 10 or 11 so the kids might go to school the next day. Partying and sex every night is why I'm being reemed of my tax dollars to support peoples kids, I support my own so these partying teens need to work late past curfew if they pull that crap on society. you think you are grown, then deal with what you do I'm sick of bailing out delinquents.
  • I surely Do, avoid teens in streets can help avoid alo f bad activity, as far as hanging out wrong crowd,,, drunk driving and for example :
