Basal Body Temperature Method -- you use a thermometer to take your temperature every day -- your average body temperature goes up 2 days before ovulation -- so when you graph out your body temperature, you can see what day you ovulated. After one or two months of practice, you will be able to predict with *fair* accuracy when you will ovulate. http://www.contraception.net/resource_centre/rhythm_method.asp Issues. Use a thermometer purchased for this purpose -- it needs to be accurate to within 1/10th of a degree F. (ask your pharmacist). Many things can make your body temperature go up, and thereby give you a false reading -- always take the reading at the same time -- preferably in the AM, before you get out of bed, and absolutely before you've had your morning coffee or meal. Keep notes when you take your temperature, for e.g. if it's later than normal reading, if you had a cold etc.
