The ski resorts in Colorado got snow today. Who is ready for ski season? I am, I can see the snow from my deck!

Apparently we have only two weeks to wait here in Denver, Ski Loveland is planning to open mid October - can't wait :) Happy Skiing

Sorry to hear that:( You are right about the skiing here. I can't wait. This is the first year that both my boys have been in school full day, so I will be able to ski during the week. I love skiing by myself, it's so peaceful. Skiing it the weekends is such an ordeal, with the traffic going up, getting the kids into lessons etc.

Wait a minute, Egico..have you not heard of the "buddy" system? Someone should be with you in case some problem arises...solitude is better left to safe environments..one ought not go into the pool when no one else is around either! Just what you wanted...starting off the day with a lecture from RosieG..but you do understand my concern, don't you? :)

If it puts your mind at rest, I never go off piste, I carry a beacon and my cell phone works everywhere on the slope. In addition there are plenty of ski patrollers around. I have been skiing this way for ovevr 20 years. I appreciate your concern:)

I don't know what "go off piste" means..you carry a beacon and you carry a cell phone..so that is fine if you are conscious..what if some ungodly thing occurs and you are not conscious? Sorry to be a pita (pain in the a**)..Anyway, what do I know? Have fun, be safe! :)

Off piste , is when you go off the groomed trails where there is a chance that nobody will see you. I only ski the trails where the ski patrol goes and there are other people skiing.

Cool. Hey, it's never too late to learn! My Mum was in her 50's when she started! I was just watching the Denver news and they were saying that Loveland may start making snow next week and hopes to open mid October. I am very excited! This will be the first year that both my children have been in school full day, so I am planning to ski during the week - can't wait!
