If I had no income from home business but had expenses, can I use this loss to reduce my taxable income from my regular job?

    In Canada, not directly. You may deduct expenses from a home business provided there is a reasonable expectation of of profit over time. If, for example, you received an income from an employer for part of the year and from a home business for the remainder, you may deduct any legitimate business expenses incurred by your home business during the period it replaced any other sources of income. If you have a full-time job outside of your home, but generate some income from running a part-time home business, you may not be able to claim any business expenses.
