  • It's interesting to me that at the same time girls started to become more aggressive and exhibit more attitude, that society as a whole started calling all females over 16 ~ ladies!
  • The missing element is parents. In the past 30 years it has become almost unheard of that a mother (or father) stay home and raise their children, instead it is daycare doing the bulk of the upbringing and they dont really give a hoot about instilling morals and values.
  • There is far more girls growing up without married parents, without stability, and without being taught to always be a lady. Girls are now being allowed and encouraged to pursue things they previously wouldn't have been able to. The division between what is appropriate for boys and what is appropriate for girls has closed considerably. The 'boys will be boys' mentality has rubbed off on the parents of girls, and they don't work so hard to make their girls be perfectly mannered feminine princesses. They are no longer sheltered from violence on tv and are simultaneously being left to deal with an increasingly violent adolescent community without constant supervision and guidance of their adult family members. Grandma is no longer next door, Mom is no longer home, and the neighbors are no longer family friends.
