Easter, names after Oestra, the pagan Goddess of Fertility, and celebrated with rabbits and eggs, symbols of fertility. Christmas was not only a Roman holiday, Saturnalia, it was also a Pagan holiday, Yule. All cultures in temperate climes have seasonal holidays, with differing names. The Feast of the Blessed Virgin is a summer festival, and All Saints/All Souls/Halloween is an autumn one.

Halloween is just a modern day form Samhain. Which is a pagan holiday of the ancient Celts. It an all saints day are pretty much accepted by Christian society. And also the practice of celebrating 12 days of Christmas(like in the Christmas carol)from the 24th to new years is pagan in origin.
