You're reading Do Jehovah's Witnesses pass a collection plate to get money from their members?
Comments
Yeah, they should put them where it is hard to access!

The normal practice in any church where a collection plate is not used. Rated down because this attempts to defame the JWs.

At the assemly the boxes are their, so that who-ever wnat to contribute can, its unlike church where a plate is shoves under your nose, this makes people feel they are abligated to contribute.

I am just wondering, if you are writing books against the Witnesses, and slandering them like you have in your other answers, why are you still attending their conventions?

In Church it is also voluntary and you are not obligated to put anything in the collection but you can just put in a pound.
At Assemblies they do plug their need for money a bit and members of the congregations donate by monthly Direct Debit which would obviously be much more than if you just put something in a collection. The money isn't used for charitable things such as a soup kitchen for the hungry it used for Worldwide Work and the printing of their two magazines, tracts, books etc. which members can order free of charge.
