no because im joining the Marines even though i respect them i wouldn't want to be a weekend warrior

I tried, but they wouldn't have me. (I'm what used to be called 4F)

Yes, and have been a member for close to 20 years. Before that I was on active duty and served in the National Guard. It is a way of helping out my fellow citizens in times of emergencies and disasters. There is also the comraderie aspect.
