  • He needs to be upfront and tell the truth to his boss, don't leave it to the last minute otherwise he might not have a job to come back too.
  • He needs to speak up immediately. The sooner the boss knows, the more chances of being able to make accomodations. If he waits too long, he'll likely be told he can't have the time off.
  • I would highly recommend that you tell the boss as soon as possible. You are more likey going to lose the cost of the cruise if you wait to tell the boss because the boss is going to say no.. but if you tell the boss it was booked before the job started, and then explained that by cancelling it, you lose all your money (which may or may not happen) your friend stands a better change of going.
  • He should have told the person hiring him after he got the job offer, but before he accepted it. At that point you know the company is interested in you, and they won't not hire you because you had a pre-scheduled vacation. Otherwise, you should tell the boss as soon as possible.
  • asap. if you need to cancel your cruise you will not get all of your money back otherwise. and the longer the boss knows the better the chances of getting the time off
