  • You know, I was never sure that that whole thing wasn't just a hoax or urban legend. I still have all of the original Teletubbies my daughter played with (not sure WHY exactly, but still...), and I think now, as I thought then, that it was silly. The Po doll says phrases she was heard saying on TV commonly, and it was thought that they were a mesh of Tagalog (a Maylasian language) and made up stuff. What I hear is "paget paget" (sounds like pagent without the N sound), and "bum ba bummmmm." Of course, anyone with a disagreeable attitude could say, "Hey ! That SOUNDS to ME like fa**ot and bite my bum !" I think that kind of applies to a lot of toys that "talk," as they all sound so garbled. Anyway, I never talked to my daughter about it, and she never said a word about it either, as she just thought it was stuff Po said, nothing 'naughty.' I don't know if there's a market for your toy, but I'd try eBay if you're looking to sell it.
