    From the perspective of a former native New Yorker who was still there on 9/11 I think it was a horrible day. I lost my best friend freom HS that day and I remember being so scared not knowing if there would be another attack for weeks after it happened. I lost my job a few days before christmas that year and ultimately had to move away from NY because I just couldn't find another one paying enough money to remain there.

    Sad, amazed, confused. Horrified, scared. I think i was a mixture of emotions. It still gets to me, i get choked up, and whats sad is I didn't lose anyone that i knew, i couldn't imagine what i would be like if i did know someone.
    It breaks my heart, and i will never forget.

    It was very shocking to all of us in Canada...very horrifying, depressing, scary. Everyone was glued to the TV, watching all of the events...just trying to make sense of it all and figure out who on earth would deliberately fly planes into office buildings.
