The 6:00 news just said 4% of the Iowa caucus vote is in, but they did NOT say who was leading. Does that mean Ron Paul is ahead?

You're reading What do you think of Ron Paul for President in 2008? If you don't mind, I'd like to know your party (Republican or Democrat). Thank you.

I know ... I really like the guy. I may not totally agree with him on the war, but he still poses a good point on it. What scares me is that he's the best candidate, I truly feel, for President, but I don't think he'll get nominated b/c of his stance on the war. So many republicans bash him and incorrectly accuse him, I just see him having a hard time getting the nod. He would literally revolutionize our country and I feel he would totally put a positive spin on how the world views us. +

It really is about being honest. If he continues to speak the truth people cannot deny him, it is more about how much exposure the political machine in washington on both sides will allow him to keep spreading the truth. It seems there is an oligarchy in washington that no matter your party, if you are an outsider from the power structure, you will have a hard time breaking through. It has always been that way. Rep or Dem, if you aren't going to "play ball" the way the status quo likes in Washington, both sides will try and break you down.

You never know, he could wind up being a viable third party candidate as well. We need something as dramatic as a third party president in this country to destroy all the partisan crap. Picutre him running as a third party candidate with Colin Powell on the ticket, that could be serious.

I think a lot of people say that until they get enough support to do it. It would be a an interesting thought though.
