Herts is a measure of cycles per second. so a 100Hz processor can perform 100 operations each second. one MegaHertz (MHz) is 1,000 cycles per second and one GigaHertz (GHz) is 1,000,000 cycles per second. so a 2.4GHz processor can perform 2.4 million opperations per second.
