  • The bits that overlap what I am familiar with have been, with the proviso that in a few situations they have speeded up the appearance of symptoms a bit. I haven't looked it up, but I assume they have used medical professionals either on staff or as a staff reference.
  • Accurate, yes.. Realistic, not so much. From what I can tell, the medical terms and definitions are used appropriately (for the most part) and conditions are as described, if exaggerated somewhat for dramatic effect. The illnesses have all been fairly real and plausible. The procedures are basically as presented, except much faster than in real life. However, as far as representing a real hospital.. as someone who works in one I have to laugh at the total lack of nurses, lab techs, physicians assistants, etc in this hospital. There is NO WAY that even the most talented doctors would be qualified to perform *every* procedure in the hospital.. not even between 4 of them. This would never happen. But again, it's more dramatic to watch them doing the tests themselves rather than ordering them on the computer and waiting for results, and then they get to be there when Something Goes Horribly Wrong during the procedure. LOL Even though I have to giggle at some of the liberties I do love this show.. and what is kind of accurate in a way is how the more prestigious doctors actually rarely have to see patients and have a team of underlings doing all the hands-on stuff for them. Plus they do hit on some of the more annoying aspects of clinic-based care (patients who diagnose themselves on the internet, patients who lie about their conditions, etc).
  • Actually everything is accurate but of course can be something no one expects. Did you ever notice there are never any nurses? LOL
  • Dunno about 100% accurate, but I do know that some get their story from true stories written by a man I just can not seem to find/remember for the life of me.
  • Well it seems fairly accurate to me. I've never attended medical school or anything, but as far as I know nothing is being made up. What I do know is that my dad is a doctor, and he says that House is the kind of doctor other doctors wish they could be.
