According to DOD rules and Federal Guidelines, the host nations song is always played first as a sign of respect...;)

Things change when you go outside your comfort zone. It's just an Anthem, if you're in a foreign land they don't have the same feeling for your country that you have. I don't see anything wrong in a line up of anthems.

International protocol requires that the host country's anthem be played last. If there are three or more countries (visitors and host), then the visitors' anthems are played in alphabetical order, and the host's anthem is played last. So, in the USA, the American anthem would be played last; in another country, the American anthem would be played first, or in alphabetical order wrt to the other nations represented. When in a foreign country respect their traditions! Just be happy they showed you the respect of playing your own anthem!!!

It's the same as display of the US flag it always comes first!
