I'd been curious about the answer since reading the question several months ago. Finally, it bugged me enough on a day when I had a million unpalatable items on my to-do list and wanted a decent reason not-to-do any or all, so I set out to find the answer. Now, first, you should understand that I'm just OK in math. That's the reason for adding up all my ratings six different times, using six different methods and got...what else? Of course. Six different totals. I always use a calculator, BTW. It saves the red face after adding 8+7 in my head and coming up with 12 or 17. (I know the answer is 20, of course. Those are just silly examples. I'm actually much better at this stuff than anyone realizes.) The more difficult aspect of the exercise comes from attempting to keep a tally while scrolling down a page. Every time I scrolled, the page "hiccuped." The "hiccup" happened too fast to keep everything together, visually speaking. It's like trying to read a newspaper while the driver of the car in which you're riding takes a few speed bumps faster than the speed bump speed limit. Out of frustration, I finally resorted to copying and pasting every page into an excel spreadsheet. And whaddya know? The seventh distinct total, LOL. I assumed this one was correct, since excel's never dropped even one calculation ball I've tossed in the ten years I've been involved in spreadsheeting. (plus. I analyzed and checked everything a dozen times). The inescapable conclusion is ... The Control Panel is correct Excel came up with 310 and that's exactly what CP reports. The contributors' page says 297. If you try this for yourself, remember to include any ratings you may have received for terms/definitions.
